About me
I’m Louisa, I specialise in helping secondary age students, young adults and adults to ditch self-doubt and cultivate confidence to achieve their true potential. I do this by drawing upon various therapeutic tools acquired during my years of clinical practice, in order to best meet the needs of those I serve. Modalities I use include Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Psychotherapy and Coaching.
I also support clients experiencing a range of dis-ease and psychological distress. This can range from difficulties such as anxiety, stress, overwhelm, overthinking, low self-esteem, perfectionism and depression to imposter syndrome, burnout and symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). At times I may also screen for mental health conditions to formulate a working diagnosis and inform my intervention plan, which may also include signposting individuals to services that can assess for medical diagnosis where beneficial.
Who I work with
I work with individuals aged 12 plus, who struggle to have faith in their abilities and experience difficulties with overwhelm or intrusive negative thoughts and emotions. Often these difficulties have a chronic and debilitating impact on an individual’s everyday routine and hinder their happiness and overall sense of wellbeing and quality of life. Typically, clients may come to me following a period of change or prolonged stress, such as prior to exams, interviews or presentations, or following a crisis or change in personal or professional circumstances – where intense feelings of vulnerability, loss, insecurity and inadequacy may have arisen.
My sessions are ideal for those struggling to manage worrying thoughts, negative patterns and cycles of behaviour or who are struggling to overcome their limiting beliefs; which often hinder their ability to flourish and thrive, can weigh heavy on thier wellbeing and hold them back from achieving their true potential. If you’re experiencing the impact of chronic or fluctuating low self-esteem, overwhelm, negative self-narrative, debilitating over-thinking, difficulties with decision making or various insecurities and are ready to find freedom from this then my one to one therapy session are designed with you in mind!
Having a clinical background in leadership and in supporting the education of junior therapists and clinicians I also enjoy working with schools and organisations to deliver training, talks and workshops on all things mental health and wellbeing related to staff and students. I also enjoy holding bespoke groups and therapeutic spaces to support optimum wellbeing, having designed and facilitated and co-facilitated various group therapy and support programmes throughout my clinical practice.
