Mental Health & Wellbeing for Children & Young Adults
Chris Edwards
About me
I’m Chris, a Penrith based Occupational Therapist with a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling and Psychology in Education. I work with children and young adults, from the age of 7 upwards.
I have a wealth of experience working with children, their teachers and families in primary and secondary school settings. This has included working with clients and collaborating with their care-givers online and in-person, within their own homes, schools or other relevant environments.
I work with those looking for a safe and non-judgemental space to unburden and share their difficulties with, who are keen to bring about positive change.
I also often work with children, adolescents, parents or families looking for individual or collective support to overcome their difficulties and have a wealth of experience in supporting those who identify as being neuro-diverse or suspect they may be neuro-diverse. Lastly, I enjoy working with those who may feel rejected or judged by others, this has also included working with clients facing difficulties around their sexuality or within their various personal or LQBTQAI+ communities.

Your Questions Answered
How do I work with you?
I offer a free 15 minute online consultation to explore your needs, and to establish if we’d be suited to working together. If we agree, we then organise a time and date to commence your first session and confirm where you’d like to attend; online, or in person in my session space in north Carlisle.
How much do sessions cost?
Sessions cost £75 per hour & £40 per half hour. Please note, first sessions are always 1 hour in duration to allow us to have sufficient time to explore the root cause of your difficulties. Sessions of EMDR also require a session duration of 1 hour to allow for time to effectively deliver this protocol.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients I work with require a course of 6-12 sessions for optimum results, frequency and duration of which will vary depending upon their individual needs and budget. Some clients may also opt to access top-up sessions where they have experienced a recent, new trauma or where they are enduring some challenging life transitions.
How do I pay for a session?
Session payment is required 48 hours in advance of appointments and is made via bank transfer.

★★★★★
Louisa is the most amazing therapist and coach. I did not know what to expect from my first session with her and I’ve been blown away by the deep emotional trauma that came up from my childhood. I look forward to our follow ups and cannot recommend her highly enough.
★★★★★
I met with Louisa, not really knowing what to expect as I’d never explored my mindset issues before. All I knew is that I definitely had unresolved issues. Wow, we uncovered a lot and I feel mentally refreshed and like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I would highly recommend Louisa to ANYBODY seeking help. She is very good at what she does and is clearly very passionate also.

Louisa’s aura is instantly calming. Within the first 10 minutes of our meeting, I felt a little better already. Her soothing voice is warm, understanding and non-judgmental. I think Louisa is very aware of the things people need support with and acts accordingly being mindful and efficient. She gave me some clarity I needed on an issue that has been deep rooted within me for as long as I can remember. I can’t wait to continue my journey with her to recover from old wounds that need to be healed.
